About Us
Bailey Instruments Limited is recognised as one of the leading suppliers to the podiatry and diabetes professions in the United Kingdom. Our customer base is drawn from both the private health care sector, and the National Health Service.
Established in 1984, Bailey Instruments began as a company specialising in Surgical Instruments. Within a short period of time, Bailey Instruments specialised further into podiatry instrumentation.
Recognised for the high quality instruments provided, Bailey Instruments became a respected innovator creating the Golding Osteotomy Guide, Galloway Wire Guide and, more recently, the Bailey Retractable Monofilament.
The Retractable Monofilament took the diabetes market by storm providing one of the most accurate devices on the world market. This innovation was recognised in the literature by a study into "Commercially Available 10g Monofilaments", Booth & Young: Diabetes Care 2000.
Bailey Instruments built on the success of the Retractable Monofilament and introduced a range of products aimed at testing for neuropathy in the diabetic foot. This range includes the Rydel-Seiffer Tuning Fork, the Neurothesiometer, TipTherm®, Huntleigh Dopplers and, the more recent Pressurestat™.
Bailey Instruments recognises the need for education with sales. To this end, we are able to provide speakers on diabetes covering neuropathic and vascular assessment. Our presentation can take the form of one hour introductory courses, extending to 6 hour courses all of which qualify for Continuing Professional Development points.
Our education courses within the company's third specialty, biomechanics, are well established. Over 70 National Health Service Trusts now use the Vectorthotic, an innovative customisable orthotic. Bailey Instruments is now able to boast a comprehensive orthotic range incorporating X-Line, a first line device, and the Pedipod, a new paediatric device.
Bailey Instruments is an Approved Supplier for PaSA (Purchasing and Supplies Authority) and is placed on the National Framework Contract for the Supply of Reusable Surgical Instruments.
Bailey Instruments has also been recognised for its Quality Management Systems complying with BS EN ISO 9001:2000
At Bailey Instruments we constantly strive to provide our customers with high quality products via our high quality service. The professional after sales service is an essential part of our philosophy proving that a sale is important, but a relationship even more so.
