Lubricating podiatry surgical instruments
Bailey Instruments Limited recommends our instruments to be lubricated regularly. This simple process minimises wear & tear, and extends the life of the instrument. Many commercially available lubricants are oil-based. Mineral oils have poor biocompatibility and may inhibit the penetration of steam and sterilant gases.
Bailey Instruments Ltd recommends Premixslip.
Premixslip satifies all criteria for a good quality, non-contaminant lubricant:
- It is water soluble
- Tested to be totally steel penetrable and sterilisable
- Does not react with tissue
- Has a CoSSH data sheet

How to use:
- Do NOT dilute – use as presented
- Spray or drip Premixslip into previously cleaned box joints
- Allow Premixslip to penetrate for about 30 seconds
- For exceptionally stiff instruments, re-apply and actively open and shut the instrument until loosened.
